Description
A solar eclipse is an alignment of the Sun, the Moon, and Earth. The moon comes between the Sun and the Earth, casting a shadow on us. In 2024, the United States will experience a solar eclipse that is visible in all 50 states. However, solar eclipses of one kind or another occur 2.38 times each year, somewhere on the Earth. Each one is a teaching opportunity that we don’t want to miss!
As homeschooling families, we have a special opportunity to use the things we observe in the heavens to teach our children in ways that public schools will never be able to do.
Even more so, as families with a respect for the Creator and a love of His Word, we can direct our children to praise Him and worship Him alone, as we discuss what we observe with our eyes.
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork,” says Psalm 19:1.
While the world looks up, some in fear and many without any knowledge of YHVH, we can direct all praise to Him!
